Long winded Mers gives the skinny on pistons, the Tirant .45 and how to get a date with a hot chick. Well, I’m lying about the last part, but this skinny might have been a little better had he thrown that in there. Just sayin’.

Here’s a few random shots of the facility at Tier One (www.t1g.com). Those of you that have been to previous Silencer Shoots at Red Hill might notice a bit of an improvement. These pics show just a few of the 9 separate ranges, as well as the 2 shoot houses, a breaching house and a little bit of the classroom buildings. October 8, 9, 10, 2010.
Tuesday, November 24, 2009Here is a little entertainment from behind the scenes at last week’d photo/video shoot. this little scene called for a hummer to roll up, guys to jump out and start shooting downrange. Simple enough. Here, some of the guys have made it out of the vehicle and are sending a few rounds:
Then, during a reload, Greg realizes that the vehicle’s decided to back on out of there on it’s own. This allowed me to get this sweet shot of the low speed chase:
Kevin was quick to commend Greg on his expert use of the parking brake. Greg insists that he did it on purpose to get the vehicle out of the Kill Zone.

Kevin, Cory and I met up with some of the guys from Remington Defense this week out at Tier One Group for some photo and video shoots. It’s tough to get up early and spend a whole day shooting the latest and greatest weapons out there. I got lots and lots of pics and will be posting some along with background stories over the next week or two. On a related note, we got to recon the facility as part of the planning for the 2010 Silencer Shoot. Wow, it’s going to be amazing, mark your calendars now- October 8, 9, 10.
We got to do a lot of shooting. Everything from .22′s to the belt-fed 240 to some of Remington’s new MSR’s in .338, and everything in between.
Here’s Cory putting a few rounds downrange with a Remington ACR, decked out in a full Crye setup. We spent most of our time on the 300 yard range and in the shoot houses. At the close end of the 300 yard range, there’s a stack of connex trailers to simulate buildings for breaching and sniping operations… well, you haven’t lived until someone rips off a belt with an M240 [unsuppressed] inside the connex. I think my fillings are loose.
At one point on Wednesday, Kevin commandeered a hummer and took Cory shooting… More later! Tuesday, November 17, 2009Sunday, November 15, 2009
For one night only, we at AAC will ignore our obsession with silence.
