Friday, December 25, 2009Tuesday, December 22, 2009Greetings to everyone from the AAC mothership! It’s been an incredibly busy year and it’s not over yet- we are scrambling to finish up as many cans as possible. Here’s our favorite intern Knox modeling the bead blasting getup.
Wednesday, December 16, 2009Wednesday, December 16, 2009Here’s Jessie James, the happy winner of the Bushmaster ACR with AAC’s ACR-SD silencer that he won in the silent auction at this years AAC Silencer Shoot. The $7,500.00 that was raised during the auction was given to charity by the good people at Remington MPD as well as the ammo sales from the event. A big thanks to Magpul, Remington, Bushmaster and Aimpoint for their contributions to the silent auction this year! Wednesday, December 16, 2009I had a GREAT visit from my family recently. My mom, grandma and step dad flew down to visit us last week. Kevin and Chad (my step dad) are pretty good buddies. Chad has always been an extremely funny guy, he loves to tell stories and always, ALWAYS has the last laugh. About 10 years ago he had several severe strokes, caused by a rare blood disease. The strokes took away much of the use of his hands, and for a very long time took most of his speech away. But, with a lot of work, he gained back both the use of his hand and also learned to communicate again. I can’t imagine going from being a huge story-joke teller to having zero ability to communicate. But, Chad was able to work hard and get back his “funny”. You may recognize him from my blog, at any rate, back to my story. Kevin and Chad have become pretty good friends over the years, and each of them like to pick on the other. Each of them like to make the other the butt of whatever joke their telling and that’s how the visits usually go. One trying to one up the other with the jokes. Well, it has moved into an all out war with Kevin’s last prank. I’ll give you three guesses as to what the picture on that piece of paper is. I’ll give you a hint. The black hat on my dad’s head was dangerously close to a naked set of these on that piece of paper. Never, I repeat, NEVER leave your hat unattended while you sleep. Your son-in-law will sabotage you. I’m locking my tooth brush up from now on. I am curious to see what the last laugh between these two will be. Hope I don’t get caught in the cross fire. Here’s a little AAC love from Royce at the FRCSE Jacksonville Fl. Thank you all for your service AND support! Monday, December 14, 2009
I’ve gotten a few questions about the first pic in the post I did HERE about what looks like unloading a rifle into a cement wall. Well, that’s exactly what it is! It’s in a new Army shoot house built entirely from a product called SACON (Shock Absorbing CONcrete) from a company called BTI. It’s a fine-grain concrete that is mixed with foam and fiber to product a product that provides self-supporting walls that absorb and catch bullets. Very cool technology. And once it’s shot up, you can patch it with a repair mixture making good as new.

Got these pics from John Noveske- in additon to the awesome rifle it’s cool to see people shooting a .338 with the muffs on the table. That’s our TiTAN mounted on there- more info about it HERE.

Here’s one for all you guys looking for last minute Christmas gifts for the people that have everything… Sweet lord, what will people think of next?
Wednesday, December 9, 2009So, I apologize for the lack of updates this week- Some of the crew and I were out on a photo and video shoot for SHOT 2010 and our upcoming catalog. We got to run many of our products through their paces in a top-tier shoot house, giving us cool video shots like this:
Of course, I found out quickly that in shots like that: Body Armor + Slightly Open Collars + Flying Brass = Painful Neck Burns.
I’ll post some stills from the shoot over the next couple days.
